Although whale sharks are considered to be one of the most approachable underwater creatures, their gentle behavior is sadly abused by a few people. In 2015, a video uploaded on the Internet showed two tourists abusing a poor whale shark. It seemed like the tourists were having fun while surfing on the back of a whale shark, holding a rope, which is attached to a moving boat. The whale shark’s back was used as a surfboard and the sad part was these tourists did not have a clue of the extent of their cruelty to the animal.
